Well, I do, apparently. At a meager cost of $18 a year, who wouldn’t? If you haven’t done it you should seriously look into it.
Now that’s out of the way, we can move on to more important topics such as, “why?”
I purchased StephenCJames.com through WordPress so I could blog about 3 things: Jesus, life, and me.
I love him. I believe God and his Son, Jesus are greater than anything imaginable, but not enough people know him. I really enjoy talking about Jesus, and writing about him in ways that will make him look great to others, so a chunk of this blog will be about him.
Not mine, but life in general. Jesus said he came so that we might have life, and have it abundantly. I didn’t experience what Jesus was talking about for a large portion of my life. Even now I fall short of what Jesus intended for me when he came into the world to die. I want to write in a way that helps people consider new ways of living. I think the Bible has a lot to say about life, and so I want to speak in a way that helps people hear its message in fresh, new, and accurate ways.
To be honest, one of the main reasons why I turned my personal name into a domain is to get my name out there. I don’t think I’m that great, but I do think God has done great things in my life. God has been very merciful to me. He’s given me a few gifts by which maybe a few people could be blessed. We’ll see. Unfortunately the world is a noisy place, and if someone wants to be heard, they need a platform. Thus, I’ll talk a little about myself, too. I’ll talk about youth ministry. However, I also love the internet, funny stuff, movies and Reddit, so I’ll try to keep it light, too.
In all this, my commitment is to keep all my posts short, interesting, and to the point. I’ll also keep them balanced between funny and full of applicable truth. I’ll also be posting regularly.
Maybe not everything I write will be meaningful to you, but if you happen to come across anything here that stands out to you, resonates with you, helps you, let me know! Reply with a comment, or shoot me an email. I’ll respond to anything and everything. If you come across something that blesses you, and you know it will bless someone else too, then please, share it on your Facebook wall, or Tweet it, or maybe even email it to them. I’ll be forever indebted to you!
Finally, if you know of anyone who is looking for a speaker for a special event, feel free to pass my name along. I love speaking with teens!
